Blackspur TK200
Price £28.57

This kit has pliers, screwdrivers, an 8in adjustable spanner and a smattering of other basic tools to help you deal with any electrical problem. As well as a good selection of spare fuses, there is that near-magical ingredient that has solved countless electrical gremlins over the years: insulation tape. The case opens flat, for easy access to its contents, and everything sits in its dedicated slot or strap. This well-planned collection even includes
a tyre compressor, jump leads, wheel wrench and tow rope. But surprisingly, there is no emergency triangle.

Car Parts Direct European Travel Kit
Price £69
Tel 01332 290 833
Web www.carparts-direct.co.uk
If you are venturing abroad with your caravan this summer, there are a number of things you must
carry with you in order to comply with European legislation. This handy pack contains it all. It has
a bulb set, warning triangle, GB sticker, high-visibility vest and beam bender kit. Although not a legal requirement, the tyre-fixer kit that’s included will be far more useful for getting on the road again in the event of a flat than a wheel wrench and tyre compressor. There is also a fire extinguisher and first-aid kit. This is a pricey package, but it’s all useful stuff. Let the supplier know your vehicle registration number, and it will provide the right replacement bulbs for your car.

Michelin Motorist Set
Price £39.99
Tel 01980 676400
Web www.caeurope.co.uk
This may look appealing, with the respected Michelin brand and smart, durable bag justifying the price. But look inside and you’ll find that this selection is skimpy. The most striking product is the excellent foot pump. The same cannot be said for the jump leads, whose plastic clamps feel cheap. Although a torch is supplied, batteries are not; we wonder how many people have been caught out by this. The first-aid kit is also disappointing: it covers basic first aid but is far from comprehensive.
