A tranquil region filled with rich history and varied scenery
The first thing you’ll notice about Mid Wales is its staggeringly beautiful and varied scenery. Because it covers such a vast swathe of land, the region takes in mountains and lakes, as well as a huge stretch of coastline.
Yet despite its size, Mid Wales is a sparsely populated region. Its biggest settlements are small towns, and many of its towns are just villages. But this doesn’t mean you’ll be short of things to do.
As well as the usual outdoor pursuits of walking, cycling and horse riding, there are dedicated visitor attractions and plenty of things to keep the kids entertained – from mushroom picking to days out by the seaside. And this is also an area steeped in history, as a tour around its towns will reveal.
