Getting there
The journey to North Cornwall is a relatively easy one. The A30 is
a busy but fast-moving road that takes you past Dartmoor and right
into the heart of North Cornwall.
Depending on which site you're heading towards, you can either follow the A395 to Launceston and the coastal towns of Bude and Tintagel, or stay on the A30 for Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. Ask staff at your chosen site to suggest the best route, because some very small roads are best avoided with a caravan in tow.
Rainy days
The dramatic North Cornwall coast is not renowned for year-round sunshine. The good news is that the area offers plenty to do on rainy days, including all-weather adventure parks. Trethorne Leisure Park
(tel 01566 863 24) in Launceston has bowling lanes, huge game rooms, an indoor assault course, bars and restaurants galore.
Colliford Lake Park near Liskeard features play sheds, a massive ball pool and a range of scary slides that will keep children from age three and teenagers busy all day (tel 01208 821469).
Indoor swimming pools can be found at the leisure centres in Bodmin (tel 01208 75715) and Camelford (tel 01840 213 188), and at the Splash Leisure Pool in Bude, which also has a flume ride and wave-making machine (tel 01288 356 191).
