Skelwith Fold is an oasis. Although it’s set over an enormous 125 acres, the delightful woodland setting means that there is all the privacy anybody could need, and it’s all about as far from the bustle of modern living as it is possible to get without buying your own island. The touring pitches are thoughtfully laid out along winding, asphalt access roads and are organised into relatively compact areas. These serve to disguise the size of the park and create an interesting environment for that evening stroll.
All the essential facilities are on-site, including a shop, which was rebuilt for 2004. The seven toilet buildings are basic but clean, and one of them has facilities for the disabled.
