Wilksworth Farm is a picturesque and peaceful gem of a site. The Grade II-listed farmhouse where the reception is located once belonged to Henry VIII and is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
The spacious pitches are arranged around the perimeter of the site and are separated by grass. Every guest receives a card to operate the security barrier, and owners Ray and Wendy live on site.
The on-site restaurant, the Olde Cart Shed, seats around 50 people and offers take-away food. It is unlicensed, but you can bring your own wine and you won't be charged corkage. The shop sells basic groceries and holiday essentials. There's a heated, outdoor swimming pool with a separate paddling pool and sports facilities, including a tennis court.
The site is set back from the minor Wimborne-to-Cranborne road, so almost no traffic
noise reaches the pitches.
You're only half an hour from the sandy beaches of Poole and Bournemouth, and a little further from Wareham, Corfe Castle and the Isle of Purbeck. Antique hunters will find nearby Wimborne Market fascinating.
